Meet the Team

Kristian McCoy D.C.

In this office we greet you with a smile. We talk to you, person-to-person, and always make room for laughter. We believe that humor and kindness create trust. You’ll never see us bring a laptop into the treatment room; we feel that good healthcare begins with eye contact and listening, centering you and your needs in every aspect of the doctor-patient relationship.
— Dr. McCoy

Life experience can often inspire a life’s work. This was true for Dr. McCoy. Thoracic surgery as a child left him with an upper body muscular imbalance. As a teenager, he sought the care of a chiropractor who restored normal muscle tone and movement. This led him to dedicate his career to helping others to achieve the same benefit through chiropractic care.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Human Anatomy and Dissection and graduated cum laude with his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University in 1991. He began practice in Freeport, Maine and in 1997 established an office at his current location in Lynn. In 2008, he renamed the practice Flax Pond Chiropractic Care.

Dr. McCoy has taught human anatomy and physiology at various colleges in New England for over 30 years. He currently teaches at North Shore Community College in Lynn. He consistently receives stellar reviews from his students; this is a measure of his knack for easily relating to others, his ability to simply and clearly explain complex concepts related to health and the human body, and his natural inclination to lead with his sense of humor.

Dr. McCoy feels proud to have been voted Greater Lynn’s Best Chiropractor for 3 consecutive years. This Best of the Best award reflects the intent of the Flax Pond team: that healthcare is about the whole person and not just about a diagnosis and a treatment protocol. Listening and getting to know each person who comes through the door forms the cornerstone of Dr. McCoy’s approach.

Originally from the Midwest, Dr. McCoy is happy to call New England his true home. He lives with his wife, Lisa, and their two golden retrievers. He is a homebody who enjoys a quiet afternoon with a good book or a walk in the woods with his dogs. In recent years, he’s taken up roasting his own coffee beans and mastering the art of making the perfect cinnamon roll.
